From there, the teeth must be analyzed, staged, moved virtually, reviewed, revised, approved, and then translated into files that can be manufactured. Why Orchestrate 3D™ mattered 

Orchestrate 3D™ was founded by orthodontist Todd Ehrler, DDS, MS, and built around a practical understanding of how orthodontic cases move from diagnosis to treatment planning to appliance production. The software features described in FDA-cleared documentation include; help analyze bite relationships, tooth position, spacing, collisions, staging, attachments, interproximal reduction, and the sequence of movements needed to turn a patient’s starting position into a finished treatment goal. 

The software also has to support production. Once the case is planned and approved, the files need to move into manufacturing, whether that means printed models, thermoformed aligners, or later direct-print workflows.

By 2021, Park Dental Research was no longer only an implant company. 

It was still deeply rooted in implant dentistry, but the company had already expanded into digital manufacturing, clear aligner production, 3D printing, and materials. The company’s identity was becoming broader: a dental technology platform with a history in implants and a growing footprint in orthodontic digital workflows. 

Orchestrate 3D™ fit that evolution because it strengthened the part of the workflow Park Dental Research needed most: treatment planning. 

Park Dental Research had manufacturing Orchestrate 3D™ had planning.Together, the combined platform could support a more complete digital workflow: scan, plan, stage, review, print, fabricate, package, and deliver. 

That is the importance of the 2021 milestone. It brought the software layer closer to the manufacturing layer. 

From making aligners to controlling the workflow 

The earlier OEM aligner manufacturing milestone taught Park Dental Research what it takes to produce clear aligners at scale. 

The 2019 Park Dental Aligners milestone gave the company its own cleared aligner system. 

But manufacturing an aligner and controlling the full aligner workflow are not the same thing. 

A true workflow requires coordination from the first digital record to the final appliance. Treatment planning cannot be treated as a separate island. It affects staging, production accuracy, case timing, doctor communication, revisions, patient expectations, and the final fit of the appliance. 

That is why Orchestrate 3D™ changed the shape of the story. 

It moved Park Dental Research closer to a complete system. Not just a manufacturer. Not just a printer company. Not just an aligner brand. A company able to support more of the digital chain under one roof. 

That same logic would later become central to DigiLine®. 

The bridge to DigiLine®

The 2022 DigiLine® milestone makes more sense when viewed through the 2021 Orchestrate 3D™ milestone. 

Direct-print aligners require more than a printer and resin. They require a controlled digital workflow. The treatment plan has to be created, staged, reviewed, approved, prepared for fabrication, printed, post-processed, and delivered through a repeatable process. 

Orchestrate 3D™ helped strengthen the front end of that chain and JUELL™ 3D supported the production side. 

Park Dental Research Aligners established the company’s aligner platform. DigiLine® would later bring those pieces together into a vertically integrated direct-print aligner system. 

That is why 2021 is not a side note between 2019 and 2022. It is the hinge between them. 

Park Dental Research had already proven it could manufacture aligners. Orchestrate 3D™ helped the company move further upstream into the planning intelligence behind them. 

More control, fewer gaps 

The direction of Park Dental Research’s digital history is consistent. The company keeps moving toward fewer gaps between the doctor’s plan and the patient’s appliance. 

In the analog world, every step was separated: impressions, models, manual setup, physical production, finishing, and delivery. Digital dentistry reduced some of those gaps, but it did not automatically eliminate them. Different vendors could still control different parts of the workflow.
